Higher Low AutoTrader

From Monja's strategy to a branded MT5 automated trading product. A rules-based execution assistant that watches the market continuously, waits for every condition to be confirmed, and applies controlled risk — the same way the method is taught.

The bot does not replace the strategy. It applies the strategy consistently.

Turning a method into a tool

Monja's knowledge

The trading logic, teaching method and brand identity stay at the centre of the product.

The development

The rules are translated into tested MT5 software with documentation and a professional interface.

The product

A branded execution tool that begins as Monja's private tool and only later becomes anything more.

A product that belongs to the brand

The AutoTrader is designed as an extension of the education business: simple rules, disciplined execution and responsible risk management, with Monja keeping full control over how it is used.

  • Higher Low Trading name, colours and interface
  • Settings Monja can explain to her students in plain language
  • Written documentation alongside the technical build
  • No hidden logic and no dependency on a third-party signal seller
  • Private use first, with any wider release a separate decision

One setup. Six controlled checks.

The software acts only after a completed candle confirms every rule. The unfinished candle is ignored, so a temporary move is never treated as a confirmed signal. The exact conditions remain private to Higher Low Trading.

1Watch

Monitor the selected chart and wait for a new candle to complete.

2Cross

Check the trend condition on completed candles only.

3Confirm

Require momentum and closing position to agree before acting.

4Protect

Verify no position is already open and that broker conditions allow the trade.

5Size

Calculate the trade size so the planned loss stays inside the chosen limit.

6Execute

Place the order with its protective stop and predefined target.

Position size follows the stop — not emotion

The bot first determines where the trade idea becomes invalid, then sizes the trade so the planned loss stays within the selected percentage of the account. If the account balance is N$10,000 and the risk setting is 1%, the planned loss at the stop is no more than N$100.

No martingale

Never increase size to recover a previous loss.

No averaging down

Never add to a losing position.

Broker validation

Respect minimum sizes, size steps and stop distances.

Safe rejection

Skip the trade when compliant risk sizing is not possible.

One position

Prevent repeated entries on the same symbol.

Full logging

Record why a setup traded or was rejected.

Development roadmap

01Current stage

Strategy workshop

Confirm market, timeframe, broker conditions and acceptable spreads.

02

Technical specification

Freeze the Version 1 rules and define valid signals and rejections.

03

MT5 development

Build the expert advisor, risk engine, chart panel, logging and settings.

04

Quality assurance

Compile, review and correct order, sizing and broker compatibility issues.

05

Backtesting

Run historical tests by market and timeframe and document the findings.

06

Demo forward test

Run on a demo account under live spreads before any real use.

The bot must earn confidence through evidence

Good code can execute a poor strategy perfectly. For that reason the software and the strategy are tested separately.

Software validation

  • Compile with zero unresolved errors
  • Verify signals candle by candle
  • Confirm risk sizing across symbols
  • Test minimum, maximum and step size rules
  • Test spread and stop-distance rejection
  • Test reconnection and restart behaviour

Strategy validation

  • Backtest multiple market periods
  • Review trade count and maximum drawdown
  • Avoid settings chosen only because they fit history
  • Forward-test on demo under live spreads
  • Record slippage and rejected orders
  • Approve live use only after Monja's review

Important risk notice: forex, synthetic-index and leveraged trading involve substantial risk and can result in the loss of capital. The Higher Low AutoTrader is a software project. It does not guarantee profitability, income or protection from loss. Historical backtests and demo results cannot guarantee future performance.
